within Iraq as part of Operation Falconer
from March 18 to July 16, 2003.
In Sydney, more than 100 per-
sonnel from RAAF Base Richmond
marched from Hyde Park to the
cenotaph in Martin Place where 50
more Air Force members watched
beside veterans and the Air Force
Association's NSW Branch.
The parade was led by CO 1
Combat Support Squadron (1CCS)
WGCDR Nicholas Clarke, and paraded
were the colours of 22SQN, 37SQN,
and 3 Expeditionary Health Squadron.
During the ceremony, NSW Lieutenant
Governor James Spigelman, presented
1CCS with a streamer for its Colours
for its service during Operation
Falconer, while a 37SQN C-130H flew
In Brisbane, the parade was a mix-
ture of the young, the not-so-young
and two and four-legged participants
as Air Force cadets, RAAF veterans
and military working dogs joined
squadron colours and personnel from
RAAF Base Amberley for the parade
through the streets and the service and
Governor-General Quentin Bryce
and Commander Combat Support
Group AIRCDRE Noddy Sawade
took the parade salute and later led the
laying of the wreaths.

including Queensland Governor
Penelope Wensley and the colours
under escort, made their way into the
event before the colours were care-

Meanwhile, the Scottish Highlands
were also represented in Adelaide by
SGT Craig Dawson who was the piper
at the commemorative service at the
Cross of Sacrifice.
During the service, wreaths were
laid, led by the Senior ADF Officer at
Edinburgh, GPCAPT Reg Carruthers,
who also addressed the parade.
