AIR Force stormed to victory on
the 60th anniversary of the South
Australian inter-service golf cup at
Victor Harbour Golf Club in Sep-
The team of CPL Mark Patton
(captain), FLTLT Paul Murray,
WOFF Stew Rawlinson and SGT
John O'Reilly scored 189 points,
beating an APS team, 134 points,
and a Navy team, 132 points. The
match was held in conjunction
with the Defence South Australian
2009 regional championships.
CPL Patton won the Drummond
Trophy with a gross score of 157.
The regional handicap champi-
on trophy was won by SGT Brent
Marshall with a nett score of 143.
CPL Marshall will now to go on
to represent South Australia at the
ADF national championships to
be held at Federal Golf Club in
Canberra from December 7 to 10.
SGT John O'Reilly was
crowned the Air Force champion.
The annual Defence Golf SA
Regional Championships are held
under the ADF Golf Association
banner and are part of an active
calendar of events for Defence
Golf in South Australia.

Townsville finished third in Divi-
sion 2 of the police and services
national pistol competition in Syd-
ney last month.
The competition attracted 113
pistol marksmen and women, includ-
ing 33 ADF and ADO personnel,
to the Liverpool mlitary area range
complex at Holsworthy.
Defence personnel competed in
Division 2 and 2A with ADO mem-
bers competing in Division 5.
Two Army shooters, WO1 Ian
Beattie and WO2 George Plessey,
filled the top places in Division 2,
with FSGT Gay third.
An Air Force line-up also placed
second in the teams' section in
