EAST Timor has been an eye-open-
er for FLTLT Erica Green and LAC
Paul Fidler who are both on their first
deployment to the country.
FLTLT Green is a watchkeeper with
the International Stabilisation Force.

FLTLT Green said she was amazed

"There is just so much more to life
than what you own or what job you have,"
she said. "It amazes me that you can have
so much or make so much with so little."
LAC Fidler acknowledges that his

"The handlers have to be ready to
deploy, but it is actually the dog who
gets the job, and the handler then goes
with them," he said.
LAC Fidler said he enjoyed that
Aisha was always happy to see him.
"Even if you're having a down day,
when you go to see the dogs, they're
always happy to see you," he said.
FLTLT Green said she relished the
opportunity to work with the Army while
on operational deployment.
"I hadn't really done a lot of work
with the Army, so working in a joint
force headquarters environment has
been great to see how other parts of our
Defence Force work," FLTLT Green,
who normally works as an instructor at
Officers' Training School, RAAF Base
East Sale, said.
